We have learned with great sorrow that according to initial reports, more than 10 people, including one child and four police officers lost their lives and more than 30 people were injured as a result of a suicide attack perpetrated today (19 January) close to a market place in the Khyber administrative unit of Pakistan’s Federally Administrated Tribal Areas.

We strongly condemn this heinous terrorist act targeting peace and stability of Pakistan and aiming at disrupting its sincere efforts towards establishing lasting peace in the region. We wish God's mercy upon those who lost their lives, hope for a speedy recovery to the wounded and convey our condolences to the Government and brotherly people of Pakistan.

On this occasion, we reaffirm our continuing support to friendly and brotherly Pakistan in its resolute struggle against terrorism.
