H.E. Mr. Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development of France, will pay a visit to Turkey on 24 October 2016.

On the occasion of the visit of Minister Ayrault, the secondmeeting of strategic framework mechanism for cooperation will be held. This meeting will take place in the context of “The Joint Declaration on the Establishment of a Strategic Framework for Cooperation Between Turkey and France” which was signed between Foreign Ministers in January 2014. This mechanism constitutes an institutional basis for further developing bilateral relations. Besides the meetings with Minister Çavuşoğlu, MinisterAyrault will also have other high level contacts and he will visit the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), to demonstrate solidarity of French government with Turkey following the failed coup attempt on 15 July 2016.

During the meetings, views will be exchanged on Turkey-France bilateral relations as well as current regional and international issues.
