The 10th Ministerial Meeting of the UN Group of Friends of Mediation convened in New York on September 26th on the margins of the 74th Session of the UN General Assembly with the theme of “New Technologies for Peace and Mediation as Tools for Inclusion: Celebrating the 10th Ministerial Meeting and Looking Ahead”.

Hosted by our Minister of Foreign Affairs with the co-chairmanship of his Finnish counterpart H.E Mr. Pekka Haavisto, the Meeting focused on the role of technology in mediation efforts and provided an opportunity to take stock of the Group’s achievements in the last decade and to look ahead in mediation efforts.

The Meeting which brought together several Ministers and prominent figures from the field of mediation was timely and useful given the recent technological developments and their potential impact on efforts in peace and stability.
